Trabajan para prevenir de la droga y para rescatar a aquellos que son víctimas de las mafias. Y por eso, los religiosos más activos son víctimas de frecuentes amenazas, extorsiones y violencia por parte de los narcotraficantes.

«Ministros mexicanos y extranjeros han sido amenazados en el norte del país por el crimen debido a que nos ven como un negocio, y porque hemos implementado campañas para rescatar a adictos y alcohólicos», comenta Arturo Farela, presidente en México de la Confraternidad de Iglesias Cristianas Evangélicas.
